hi, i think my 92 pickup has a rod knocking or spun bearing or something. Anyway, my brother has a 22re to replace my dying one. My brother also works at a garage and is pretty good with working on vehicles. I think his boss will let him use the garage on the weekend when they are not open.
So, with a garage with all sorts of tools handy, the truck already running, another engine to swap out, and two people working on it, how long, hard would it be to swap this engine over. Basically, i would drive the truck down there, pull the old engine out, swap over parts like maybe the head depending, water pump, timing chain cover, timing chain, etc... over to the new engine, then drop the new engine in and hook everything back up until it runs.
I have swapped a motor before, and im sure my brother has swapped a few in his day. So we're not novice's or anything. How big of a job am i looking at with this truck/engine? Thanks
