I was tired of the rusting bed on my truck, so my dad and I bedlined the whole bed, inside and out, of the truck after we cut out the rust and welded in new metal. I still have to do the rocker panels, front fenders, and air dam, but this is part. Tell me what you think.

Awsome, but what if he misses a spot. It will rust from the inside out. Then you will have a sagging floppy rubber thing that looks like a truck bed LOL

Haha, good point, but as the women around here already know, I never miss.

Nice fix. I just finished my rust repair on my 88 pick-up. I don't know how to post pics on this forum so if someone is willing I will email them to you for posting.
out4elk, just go to www.cardomain.com and set up a free page on your car. Thanks for the positive feedback dudes, glad you like it, i love it. Its easy to wash, tough, and looks wonderfully tacky and ghetto, but thats my style. I will post when i get the fenders and rockers done.

Heh, cool, mine is cheap and dirty, yours is clean and nice. Props. I just don't have the cash to do that.

wow those fiberglass bed are nice man are they any lighter??
no ... they weight the same as the original bed , they build them that way so the "center of gravity" stays the same , ands so that the springs and shocks and stuff all work the same .
Its called Herculiner, you can get a kit to double coat your whole bed for about 90 bucks. Check it out. Its sweet, just follow the directions to the letter, and you have a very solid bedliner, or, in my case, paintjob!

I bought the Dupli-Color stuff at Wal-Mart in a spray can. I think its like 6 bucks a can, but it works and looks great. The key to doing it right is using 180 sand paper on the bed first, so it has somethnig to stick to. That's probably why it comes off when you wash your truck. I did the inside of my tailgate after i got the truck painted. Masked it off, used 180 (i think) with my orbital sander, blew off the dust, and sprayed away. I did 3 THIN coats letting them dry over 1 hr per coat. (i put it on thick on the edge because of my 4wheeler ramps will scrape it off it not. ). Ill get a pic of it. For 6$ a can, you really cant beat it. Itll take probably over 5 cans to do the whole bed, but thats 30 total compared to the 300-400 you pay for a professionally sprayed one which is thicker, and probably better, but thats almost 1/3 of what i payed for my whole truck.
