Hmm, I've never driven, or been in an 05 Tacoma, but the T100 is a nice truck. My grandpa's runs great after 10 years, is pretty smooth riding, gets around 23 mpg, and does the work he needs done (dump runs, hauling wood, hauling pine needles at our cabin) His is pretty comfortable, but it's a DX so its pretty much bare bones, and that's pretty much the only thing I don't like about it, but overall it's a nice truck.

the T-100 is a great truck we had a 96 which we bought from this anal guy it had NO rust at all. Ran like a champ wasnt too good offroad due to the fact the 1st owner never took it off road but no complains from me. Early models had the 3VZ later ones had the 5VZ as for the new Taco its nice i still prefer older gen trucks thats my .02

Me personally, I like the T100 because its JDM. However, my next truck will be a Tacoma, so I like those too!
It just seemed to be that these 2 trucks are kind of similar in size, so I thought it would be fun to do a comparo.

Japanese domestic market. I called it "JDM" because it was made in Japan.

Oh I see. I have a JDM vehicle. Yeah the Japanese Toyotas tend to rate higher than the American ones.

Well, yes and no, Cress. TECHNICALLY, they arent JDM unless you had a vehicle imported (right hand drive), but I still like to use the term because it was made in Japan.
I do agree with you though, I think that for the most part the Japanese-made Toyotas have SLIGHTLY better quality than the American, European or Canadian made ones. However, its VERY slight.

True. American made Toyotas are great, and our 2 Camrys, Avalon, and Tundra were made here, and they were (are) great, but yes the Japanese ones are a little bit better. What plant were the T100's built in anyway? I know it's Japan, but where? I heard it was Tahara, but I heard somewhere else it was Tokyo.

Im not 100%. I know that the majority of Japanese-built Toyotas were made in Toyota City, which is in the Aichi Prefecture (thats in the middle part of the country, a little bit southeast of Tokyo).
