deceleration missing

My ' 86 carbureted 4cyl 22r is experiencing a miss upon deceleration or maintaing speed. this problem has been occuring since I had the head gasket replaced. I had the valves re ground and the head resurfaced. Hint the miss only occurs after engine has warmed up. Please give me a clue. I will entertain all replies.

It could be a timing problem. If you know you got it right the first time, then you might want to check the plugs and wires. If they are ok, then a compression check may be required to make sure everything went together correctly. If that's ok, make sure the carb is not sucking in air from around the base. Good luck.

My first thought was the gasket at the base of the carburetor might be leaking. Another possibility is a leaking intake manifold gasket. Also maybe a leaking vacuum line. Are all the vacuum lines hooked up correctly?

Also check the vacuum advance diaphragms. You can use a vacuum pump or just suck on the vacuum hose leading to them. The inner diaphragm (the one closest to the motor) is notorious for leaking.
