22R-E needs timing chain. Mild cam at the same time?

Hey Guys,

My '89 needs a new timing chain, and thanks to this site, I know exactly how to do it. My question is, while I'm in there, should I throw a cam in (nothing too hairy, of course) for a little better performance? I've got 128K miles and it still runs well. Have any of you out there done this? If so, how did it come out, and where did you get the cam from? LC Engineering (www.lcengineering.com) wants close to $400 for their street cam, which I think is craziness. Thanks in advance for your $.02.

Brian

If that is what you are looking for this is the perfect time to replace your cam since you are gonna have it all apart anyways. I got mine from American Custom Cam in Covina California. Theyre number is 626-938-0073 ask for Joey. They do clean regrinds for a low price and his work is excellent.

Also check out www.doaracingengines.com. They offer nice cams for a reasonable price.
