Overheating

1991 Toyota PU 4x4 3.0. Ok I can drive around town for an hour, and it will not overheat. But if I start out cold and drive 10 highway miles (60MPH), it overheats. The fan and clutch are new, and the thermostat is currently taken out. Is it time for a new radiator or what???

It might be the Rad or the water pump.

Don't need a new radiator if it don't leak, you can get it rodded out for $40 - $50. they open it up and poke all the mineral deposits out so that it flows like new. I had that same problem, any time I tried the freeway I overheated. the fan clutch fixed mine though. Could just be a radiator cap gone bad, I think that if your overflow bottle gets filled up too far it could overheat, Not sure that either of those problems will let you drive around much at all, freeway or not

This is somewhat off topic, but is one of those Flex Fans work 30 bucks? Or is it just a gimic.
