blue smoke on a fresh rebuild

my 22re just got rebuilt by a machine shop it was completly redone and primed....i reinstalled it and i have ran it a few times but every time it goes back down to idle a big blue puff of smoke comes out of the exhaust im not sure if this is normal or not.....i also have bogging a little when i accelerate but that could be a spark ground problem i had before....any advice or experinces would be a great help.....THANKS

Sounds like the rings are not seated. I would run it a while to see if the problem goes away. Check with your rebuilder so you don't wait beyond any warranty period. Not sure what to think about your acceleration problem. Sounds like a fuel problem to me. Not sure how these new-fangled efi systems work, but something should provide an extra shot of fuel when you accelerate.

giving it too much gas before it is properly broken in is not good for it. the blue smoke means your burning oil, i second the piston rings not being seated.

i got another question regarding the bad acceleration problem there is a vacuum hose on the vac diagram that goes from a switching valve to the fuel filter but my filter has no connection on it for a vacuum hose and could that be causing my problem
