starting problem
I have a 95 p/u, 4x4 with 170k miles. Tonight, I was at a friend's house, left there, truck started fine. Then, when I got back to my apartment, parked it and then decided I wanted to park in a different spot, and went to start it only to find it "click." Voltage meter says there's plenty of power. So, I popped the hood, checked the starter and alternator fuses, they looked fine. So, I looked at the battery terminal and the ring that connects to the positive side. There is the actual ring that goes on the batt terminal, and there's also a an extra screw where you can add your accessory power cables. I unhooked my amp and offroad lights and then tried, no luck. So I then unscrew the nut again, and start messing with the cables that go to the starter and solenoid. Once I started messing with those, I heard a hissing type sound coming from somewhere under the rear-end. I got under the truck, but couldn't quite pinpoint it. Once I removed a certain wire off the battery, it stopped, then when I put it back on, the hissing/whining sound started again. Does anyone know what this could possibly be?
