Help me identify this shifter

When I bought my truck in April I got a few miscellaneous Toyota parts with it that the guy I bought it from had laying around. This shifter is one of those parts. It looks a lot like the shifter I have installed in my truck right now, but the one in my truck bolts to the tranny with 4 bolts instead of 6. Other than that, they look identical. I'm not familiar with all the different tranny codes. Can you guys tell me which tranny this shifter will work with? Also, can you tell which tranny my truck has in it if my shifter bolts to it with 4 bolts?

Thanks,
Rob

is your truck 2wd or 4wd? what year is it? it looks like the transfer case shifter in my 1980 4x4. longer ones were used for the tranny shifters, and the shorter ones for the transfer case. but it would help if you gave more specifics about the truck.

Well I know it is a 5-speed shifter, not a transfer case shifter. My truck is an '88 4wd but the specifics about my truck won't really matter because this shifter doesn't fit my truck.

Thanks for helping me identify it.

Just so I know, can you tell me what tranny my truck has in it? I have an '88 4WD 5-spd 4-banger. My shifter mounts to the tranny using only 4 bolt holes.

W56. It'll tell you on the tag under the hood, too.
