94 22RE Shuts off while driving

I have a 1994 4x4 truck 22re that shuts off while driving. When it shuts off I noticed that the engine light does not come on when the ignition switch is turned on. After a few minutes I turn the ignition switch on and the engine light now is on and the truck will start. I then try and check for codes and the engine light just blinks constently very rapidly without stopping no pauses. Does this point to a problem with the ECU?

I read one person curing this problem by firmly pushing down on the EFI fuse. It cured his problem because the fuse had jiggled itself loose and would intermittently make contact. Your problem almost sounds like the EFI relay going bad which would explain why you lose all power to the ECU. It could also be the computer or a connection to the computer. Do you have power to any other accessories in the truck when it acts up?

Holy s**t I've never heard of that happening before.

I had the same problem, I replaced the distribitor cap, rotor, plug wires, plugs, and the ecm the little module on the coil.

Guess what it was The damm pick up sensor in the bottom of the distributor when it would get hot it would just die.
