Colorado Vacation planning help

I'm planning a vacation in Colorado late October or early November with my wife. It may not be the best time to go but we would like to get some skiing done, hiking, fishing, etc. I need your advice on places to stay, things to see and do. I heard Estes park is a good place to visit. Thank you.

Thanks AOTaco for the input. I've decided to visit New York City instead. I'll save Colorado for the spring.
