Hit and Run

some guy was speeding and a cop saw him so he turned to look if the cop was going to chase him and turned the steering wheel ramming his old 4 door wagon into my truck. he took off. I didn't see it, i was inside my girls house when i heard my alarm go off. ran outside and saw a cop drive by fast. then one of the neighboors yelled "he hit your truck" ran out and there it was. called the cops and the guy was pulled over two blocks away on a speeding ticket and got arrested for hit and run. This is B*&^#$%T i was upset!!! My brand new truck DAMAGED!!!

He will be ordered to pay for it, but if it's the kind of chump who is running away from cops while driving a P.O.S. old wagon, then you'll never see a dime from him. It will just go on a list of judgements against him.

That's what insurance is for, unfortunately.

Makes me so incredibly mad. The first accident I ever experienced was a hit-and-run when I was a teenager. I was driving on a lonely road with a friend of mine and saw headlights coming right at me in my lane. He corrected at the last millisecond but still tagged my car HARD. The last thing I saw were his tail lights as he sped off.

There's a special place in hell for cess-ridden filth like these hit-and-run guys. They don't care who they hurt, who they kill, what damage they cause to hard-working people, whose lives they affect. And our system will feed him, slap his wrist, tell him, "now you pay that nice man back, ok?" and then let him go repeat his behavior.

Haha....I feel better after this little rant!

Welcome to the club. Mine was rearended Friday by a drunk illegal with no license. $200 uninsured driver deductible is in my future.

Sorry to hear that. It freaking sucks, no question. Just make sure you end up not paying a dime.

Up-date on the Hit and Run. Took it in for an estimate $3,200 with a deductible of $500. WTF. Anywho i have two opions go trough my insurance and have them take care of things and pay $500 then get it back when the guy pays the insurance for the claim OR try to actually go trough the guys insurance and that means waiting longer more paper working seeing if he has insurance once he gets out of jail blah blah blah that wat it sounds like to me. I don't know i want to go trough my insurance so i don't deal with the hassle of trying to get the money from him or his insurance

You may have no option BUT to go through yours. Your insurance subrogation dept will seek repayment from his insurance at which time you will be reimbursed for your deductible. Check with your ins. co. though because if he doesn't have insurance, you should be covered under your uninsured drivers part of your insurance which should have a lower deductible.

That definately bites the big one...depending on who your insurance company is, if you pay them, they will hunt them down and you don't have to do the work. My friend had State Farm and this girl didn't want to pay up...he paid SF and they got the money from the girl and he got his deductible back...
