I tried to order a white DC 4x4 sport last week. The salesman did the standard; said that it will be 30 days and then went back into the sales manager office and came out with a fully loaded Taco just the way I wanted it. The only thing was that they had to do a dealer swap. Two days pass, I called the salesman back and he said that the other dealer has "re-nigged" (quoting an Africa-America salesman, see correct spelling and definition below) and they do not know when they could get me one.
So my question is... how long did you wait for the color you wanted? and do you think that 2 week is a sufficient amount of time to give a dealer to find the truck you want?

1. About 3 minutes.
2. Two weeks? Sure, the wait may well be worth it.
3. Renege - To fail to carry out a promise or commitment: reneged on the contract at the last minute.

The one I wanted had to come from 2 states away, I agreed to buy it on a Saturday, and didn't get to get it until the following Saturday. They said they tried to get it trucked, but couldn't get one arranged. Finally had to have someone pick it up and drive it here. It was a long week, but well worth the wait. It was exactly what I wanted.
They found several within Gulf states Toyota, but none had the steering wheel controls coupled with a manual trans. Also Gulf states LOADS UP their vehicles with "extra value" packages full of crap you don't need and very little actual options you want.
2 weeks seems like a long time, but could be worth the wait if they truck it to you.
I had never thought about how to spell reneged, so I could have made the same mistake you did.
The good Lord blessed me when I got my truck. I built it on Friday night, went to my local dealership the next day after the dealership was closed and couldn't believe what I saw. Here is the small town of Sterling Colorado was the exact truck I built. It didn't have an option missing or added that I had built online. I then went back on Monday to see what kind of a deal they would give me. The M.S.R.P. was $28,660.00 and I was offered the truck for $25,600.00 which I think came out to something like $300.00 below invoice. They had had the truck since February and really wanted to get rid of it badly. I have now had the truck slightly over a month and have absolutely loved it!
P.S. I had no idea how to spell reneged either.

I waited 24 hours..the dealer did a swap with another store about 40mi away..I got lucky to get what I wanted exactly, especially since it's already so late in the year. They also wanted to get rid of it since the 2008's are on their way..but I haggled and got a fleet deal. They didn't make shit off me!! haha
