well, my ex got her way and was awarded child support. not sure how much yet, but regardless it's probably more than i can afford. i'm still paying off some of her debt from the divorce 2 1/2 years ago. anyway, i'll probably end up having to sell my tacoma unless my wonderful employer (FEEL the exaggeration) gives me a raise. and since that isn't gonna happen, if you know anybody that's interested in a 2007 prerunner access cab, i-4, manual, sr5 with the shitty wheels. let me know. i'm gonna let it go for $19000. transferrable warranty to 100,000 miles. oh, it only has 13000 miles on it and gets an average of 22mpgs with 90% city driving. peace.

Doesn't help you now, but I learned a valuable piece of advice while living in South Carolina: "It's cheaper to keep her". Too bad you're learning the hard way. My wife politely reminds me of that every time I see some hot blond. (we have 3 kids, so I'd be SCREWED.)

That's exactly why I haven't married ever, my girlfriends last about 3-4 yrs and then start bitching about everything, then they "dump me".
I got my truck, my beach apt. and my house, if she wants to leave it's ok with me and since we're not married, she's not getting shit from me, usually after a few months they want to come back and "fix things", but it's too late and another lucky girl has her place.
I learned long time ago that not getting married is better than the oposite and since most people marry to have kids, well my kid just hit 22 yrs old and she's the only woman that's getting any money from me.
Another reason is that I don't want to share my daughters inheritance with nobody, unless that somebody brings something to the table too.
thanks for the words of encouragement guys. marriage is pretty cool, it's the divorce that sucks. if i had to do it over again, i wouldn't have. don't get me wrong, i love my kid to death and i wish i saw him more, but in order for the ex to get as much money as possible, she won't let that happen. hopefully after she gets the money, she'll let me see him more often. if not, i'll probably take her back to court for more visitation. either way, it sucks.
maybe the judge will be easy on me and not make me pay more than i make in a month and i'll get to keep the truck. we'll have to wait and see. in the meantime, if you know of or hear of anybody wanting a truck like the one mentioned, let me know.

I didn't think they could take more than 33% of your income... I'd look into that. There should be a law limiting how much they can take.
And one more quote: "The number one cause of divorce is......marriage."
Seriously though, if she's gonna be a bitch, then become an asshole. Get a lawyer and fight her on everything. It'll have to end in a compromise and you should make out better than just letting her do whatever.

Man i'm truly sorry to hear that, cause i'm going through the same thing right now. well i wasn't married but had a kid with a girlfriend right after high school. We tried to stay together but finally went our seperate ways. While i was in college i worked solely so i could send her money, and my son never went without anything. But when i graduated and started making more money she took me to court. so now that she has an extra $600 a month she went out and bought a new Sport Trac. Now tell me how they justify that a 5 yr old needs $600 a month, ridiculous. not sure about other states and not meaning to depress you but in SC child support and visitation is messed up. unless the mom is on drugs they always win. my only advice is to ask the judge to be very specific about days in regards to visitation, cause my original court order was very vague and she would keep my son from me whenever she would get mad. Also ask about claiming your children every other year for taxes, some judges will give you that. good luck man
yes I heard a comedian once who said Marriage is a woman thing. They come over and preview your stuff as well as your posessions and decide if they would want them. They marry you and after a while they tire of you so they divorce you and take 1/2 your stuff and 1/3 of any new stuff you will get. Marriage is kinda cool if you get the right one but lately it seems that its musical mates. You marry and under 10 years you get a new one and still have to make payments on the old one that you don't get to keep. I figure if I'm making payments on it I should at least be able to use it occaisionally.
