I have been considering switching to one , i know i know. I love my truck but i would like to be able to have people sit comfortably in the back, and well in the access cab, unless they are really small, that's not happening. And im not a big fan of the 4-door tacomas either. It probably wont happen but i have just been kicking around the idea. I wont an 4-door F-250 power stroke turbo diesel lifted 5"-8" with 20"-22" wheels and 37ish tires. Its really more truck than i need but that's part of it i guess .
I was just wanting some input from previous owners, which you obviously switched to a Tacoma for some reason... thanks in advance!!

I live in the city where F-250s are made and I'd rather
WALK than drive an F-250 or make payments to Ford.
You think you got problems now, buy yourself a Ford.
It will give a whole new meaning to the word "money pit".
I previously own an 04 F250 for about 1 1/2 years before I decided to downsize to an 07 Tacoma Double cab. It was a single cab long bed 4x4 with the trition 5.4L. Gas was just killing me with that 37 gal tank and I fill that sucker up every week. The pro is good to have a full size truck if you need the space to move stuff. Con is something I don't really use the bed for every day. So Tacoma Double cab short bed for me and i must admit that this truck serves me well.

I had a 2003 f-250 crew cab short bed 6.0l diesel and loved it. It ran like it was on steriods. Then i did some performance mods (suncoast trans, custom tune, upgraded turbo, fire rings for the weak head gaskets, and a couple of others) and that when she really purrred. But it was a large truck and couldn't justify its use after I changed jobs and homes. To tell you the truth I miss the way it took off but I'm very content with my tacoma.
You're in luck, you can buy my 2003 F-250. The only reason i'm selling mine is that my new job is an hour away and the fuel usage was getting outta hand. The 6.0L Powerstroke got decent mileage but the 8" lift and 38" Swampers put a big hurt on that. I only have the Extended cab but it has a decent sized back seat, atleast for short trips. I know ford has had a ton of trouble from their 6.0L PS but i must have gotten lucky because i didn't have a single complaint and that beast loved to run, could easily smoke the 38"s. It now is serving as my workhorse and mud bitch until i can find it a new home. Any takers?
I think the bed bounce has more to do with frame structure than leaf springs.
agree, i hate to admit it but i think that our tacomas would be just as bad as the tundra out there, or worse, the bed bounces all over the place just going over railroad tracks.

I have owned 3 Super Dutys since, 1997. My 1997 F250, CC, 4x4, 7.3L Powerstroke was a great truck NO real problems with it in 200K. My 2002 F250, CC, 4x4 7.3L Powerstroke was Good also, only problem in 100K was a leaking oil pan. My 2006 F350, CC, 4x4 6.0L Powerstroke, was a total POS!! I ended up Lemon Lawing it in Aug. 07 with only 27K on it, problems started in the 1st week and 600 miles. I personally know 6 other 6.0L Powerstroke owner that have had Ford by their truck back. I would not recomend a 6.0L Ford to anyone. I say with experience, Say your time and $$$ and pass the Ford buy.
Before I got into the Super Dutys I had a 91 Toyota 4x4 pick-up 5sp 22re. I put over 387,000 miles on it in the 12 years I owned it. Great truck.
I will be buying a new Tacoma next spring or early summer. Im currently driving the truck in my sig, that I purchased for my son.
