Funny 4wd story

We've had snow on/off the roads since Sunday. This morning a lady at work asks me a question about her used Explorer SUV she recently bought and using the 4wd.

She said she likes it, (only having cars before) traction is great. But the truck only does like 30 mph and the engine is racing. Is that to prevent you from speeding or breaking the truck, other 4wds seem to go alot faster... Your always supposed to put in 4lo right?

I'm just surprised 4lo worked in a used Ford.

Overheard a youngster with a v8 dodge moaning about $100 fill-ups. Asked him how big his tank was - 'not sure'. Asked if he was using premium, 'yes'. Why? - 'heard it was better for the motor'. Show me the owner's manual. Says right here use 87.. - 'thanks'.

Premium is over $4 a gallon here.

2.87 cents a gallon here in South Louisiana, where the oil is from. I can imagine seeing that ford reved up all the way for her daily trips to the beauty parlor.

Haha, thats funny stuff. My mom accidentially put our suburban into 4hi and then went to work, about 30 something miles, mainly highway. Realized it when she was taking turns on the street. haha.

Gas isnt much better here in california. I just filled up my taco, 18 gallons at $3.70... ouch

Speaking about suburbans...
the salesman that sold the parents ours said that
"when going over 100 mph in 4 wheel drive, the vehicle will shut off"
my dad and i just laughed and laughed
what possible case would you be going over 100 in 4x4, ever?
24 hour desert race in a suburban?
i think not

$3.00 a gallon for 87 up her. And we pump 25% of domestic oil, but we only have 2 refineries, IIRC, unlike you guys in LA.

Thats funny, we call Explorers Exploders here in Utica NY. They don't handle the winter well. Haha, my friends Explorer got locked in 4lo and wouldn't get out. It tops out at 45 in 4lo by the way.
