tailgaters

Everyone deals with them sometime or another. I was just curious how you Tacoma owners deal with those annoying tailgaters?

Sometimes I just punch it and take off. Others I brake check em (if they're bein a total douche). Last but not least when I get my truck back in a week or so I just gotta hit one of my switches and slam my frame to the ground and they get covered in sparks.. p.s. i hate tailgaters and I live in CA!

We need a bumper sticker that reads: The closer you get- the slower I go.

I hate them and am almost never in a hury to get some place so I love going through construction zones with my cruise set to the posted limit. I'll have em lined up for a mile behind me

i love it when little civics tailgate you, especially when you have a lifted truck.

The other day i had a little ricer pull all the way up on me at a stop sign. I had a buddy in the back of the truck and i yelled at him to drop the tailgate on the hood of the civic. the guy had his window down and heard me. He drove off all pissed off with his girlfriend and revved up his 1.2 cyl motor at me, it was hilarious.

if it's a single lane road, i'll sometimes pull over and let them by - really freaks 'em out. maui is too small to make any real time by speeding. if it's a two lane 'highway' they often go flying by and i usually catch them at the next light. gas was 4.09 for regular yesterday, 75 bucks for a fill up. i'll drive slow and save a few bucks. i was poor back in college, and it would suck to be poor on this island. most of the crazy speeders here look like life is kicking them in the balls.

I rarely get tailgaters..... but when I do.... I just go about my business and go whatever speed I'm going. If they manage to stay behind me long enough and I hit a stop light or something - I'll put the truck in reverse and act like I'm gonna backup. "Ooops, you were sooo close I couldn't see you back there. Ohh so sorry...." Other times - I'll block them in traffic on purpose, or switch lanes so they can't get around me.

I usually don't get tailgaters - as I'm the one person moving along with the faster traffic. I never get that close to vehicles......but if you cut me off or do something stupid, I'll be up your ass and stay there as long as I can

We should start a thread about on-road pet peeves!
