I need your opinion on MP3 players

Hello all,
I'm looking into the MP3 market and don't know what to buy, Microsoft has the Zune and Apple has the Ipod. Both look like good players but the Zune has a smaller capacity than the Ipod. I'm leaning towards the Ipod but I hear bad things about iTunes and the software being funky. What do you guys think?

I tried other MP3 players too cuz of what I head about iTunes... but there are so many accessories for the iPod only, and it's become the industry standard... Probably too young to remember this but you didn't see many people running out to buy a BetaMax after 1983 did ya?

As for being "funky" there are ways around iTunes.

I have a nano 4gig and it's been awesome!

I'm not all familiar with itunes and it's been working fine for me. It's done a few weird stuff -but when I reboot my computer (which isnt' often), it's been good. As far as I know...when it acts weird, it's because I'm doing something stupid with it.

I LOVE itunes for searching for music. I mean, I have a list of music from my younger years - one-hit wonders that I have no clue what the artist is. Itunes has been awesome to search and find those non-popular tunes and get the information I need.

Then - I search online to find it for free (I've never purchased music from the istore).

There's a really great forum specifically for the ipod -it's called ilounge. http://forums.ipodlounge.com/

There are several web sites other than iTunes that you can use legally. Cheaper and not as flaky.
The BetaMax analogy is kind of backwards in this case. iTunes is the oddball. MP3 is the standard.
I like SanDisk MP3s. The only iPOD I will use is a model that can be modified with Rockbox to use standard MP3 music.
