maintenace e-log

i found a pdf maintenance guide/log on this site a long while ago and printed it to keep up with the maintenance that I have performed... You know the one, it has the red x-runner on the front page.

I guess that the author locked it without enabling "form" usage because the cells cant be modified on a pc (mac in my case).

Anybody know how to unlock this thing so i can keep an electronic log book for my truck????

I could be wrong about this, but I thought Adobe .pdf files can only be modified using the PRO version. Very spendy unless you can, um, 'appropriate' it for youself.

One of my co-workers did just this 2 years ago. We had quite a bit of sport altering official corporate manuals and releasing them to the crew.

That is part of the allure. You can publish documents that can't easily be altered, only 'read' (hence the name, Adobe Reader).

Trying to copy/paste into another program might be your only other option. I don't believe I've ever tried this though. Maybe someone else can chime in?

I was playing around with it after reading the post. You can copy & paste it into MS Word if you wanted to....It grabs it like a complete pict. You'd have to resize and move things around where you wanted them to be.

But hell, at that point - you could design your own e-maintenance log and take bits & pieces of the other one and add where you want it.
