Went up Angelis Crest and spoke with a Ranger. Rincon is down for now. They are working on powerlines. You need a permit(free) and the combo that they give you that is good for a month I think. Then they change it. He told me the views of the L.A. basin are amazing. OHV Trails and camping that are snowed in right now in Angeles open up on May 15. There are several trails in Angeles Crest. Some that are open like Lynx Gulch Road is a cool side trip. Gets gnarly at one point. Nf-4n18 is snowed in, but will open May 15. And close by is Nf-3n17 that leads to other trails. Then there is Wrightwood. Can't get there without going around and taking the 138. 2 is closed right now due to slides and snow. But people have post picks from that neck of the woods...
Hungry Valley--->Lockwood Miller Jeep trail, been reading it's one of the best we have, but is snowed in.... Jawbone is awesome too.
That's just to name but a few that are near us who are from Southern Cal.
Oh, can't wait to explore Mt. Pinos. It looked like the bomb place to go wheelin. Ranger told me most of the OHV roads are closed right now due to snow.
