Do you guys think this is a scam?

Put up my stock wheel/tire set for sale on Craigslist.
This guy says he is interested but would like a few more pictures. I send him a close up of the tread. Then he sends me this email.
============================================
I will send you a check from my bank to cover the cost as i am happy with your early response.anyway,i will not be available for the pick-up of the item because of the nature of my job so i got the services of a mover whom will come for the pick up of the item on my behalf.so i will like you to provide me with the following information so as to facilitate the payment for the item

1.Your full name to be on the check
2.Home or work address
3.Your phone number

As soon as you have cashed the check, my mover will come over for the pick-up.
Have a nice day.

================================================

He just doesn't type the english language like a truck driving american
But what could he do with my name, addy and number?

He could come to your house and hide things in your mailbox. Or hide in the bushes eating boxes of oreos watching you watch television.

It sounds odd, but doesn't sound like a scam because He wants to take delivery after you cash his check. I know some people type odd on the computer. My Mom sends emails that sound almost robotic.

Plus I just realized he asked for my number witch is already listed in the add

I sent him a reply asking what part of town he lived in and that I could deliver them to him.
I guess we'll see.

SCAM ALERT!!!

the check will look as if it has deposited in your account, then it will be gone citing insufficient funds, then you've lost your items and the money and you never saw what the guy looked like or where he's from because he has his "mover" pick the things up.

I'd move on if i were you.....

That's a scam, I sell stuff on craiglist all the time and always get those type of emails, they are mass responses to craigslist ads, that's why they don't specifically name what your selling they just say item!

So what they do as already explained is that they send you a bad check, you deposit it looks good then it comes back non sufficient funds 3 days later after they have already picked up your stuff.

Only deal with cash on craigslist!!!

Yeah I agree. After I offered to deliver to him I got the silent treatment.

Case Closed.
