if you could jump into an 08 tundra for the same payments would you ?
Thats right the same payments. Im looking at a 08 TRD 5.7 Db cab with all the goodies that my 06 tacoma has now Plus a Useable back seat for adults and way way more towing power and close to the same MPG as im getting now
Im looking at a 72 month deal to keep the payments the same. What you guys think? Im a big guy at 6'3" 262lbs. The tundra is really comfortable and I love the Small block sound
Would you upgrade to a tundra and keep your payments the same? I still owe close to 4 years on my tacoma and I have a 72 month with the tacoma anyways.
Im getting the tundra for 5000$ below MSRP

close to the same MPG as you get now??? what the hell did you do to ruin your tacomas gas mileage?
You got the tundra for so cheap because they can't sell them!!! No one wants a big truck with todays gas prices. I saw a sale up around boston where they were going for dirt cheap for a couple days, considered jumping on it, but i'm content with my taco.
I'd stay with your taco. Your inner child is gettin the best of you and its telling you what you want to hear in order to buy it. Sure if you can afford the gas and another 72 months of payments, go for it! I sure don't want that! Sexy truck tho.

A lift tires and the cap I guess. I get anywhere from 13.5-16.5 mpg now.

I must resist and not lift it Im not sure I can resist though

Thats funny. A mod moved another mods post.
But seriously, if you are asking around the chances are that it is something you want to do, but are unsure about it and are looking for the answer you want to hear. The Tundra is a nice truck but may be more than you need. It sounds like your Taco can pull your camper just fine and you allready have 36 months gone on this one. You could spend all night going back and forth talking yourself in and out of this. Good luck!
I wouldn't do it. The Tundra is much larger than I want or need really.
Only reason to go for it is if you need the Towing power. If not then just keep your Taco or get a Double Cab Taco.
I dont need the extra but it would be nice to have a DB cab and the extra leg room.

I know that looks arent everyone's main criteria for the value of a truck, but I have to say that I think the Tundra is funny looking as hell! The front end is a joke! And the doors are totally stupid looking too.
Personally, I think the Tacoma is sporty and perfect for anyone under 60. If I were retired and looking for something to pull my fifth wheel with, I might look at the Tundra. Anything less than that, I'll take the Taco.
I too rode the fence for a while. I could have had a Tundra 5.7 four door (not crewmax) for $15 bucks more a month on my payment , very tempting but gas mileage and the fact that I don't tow enough to need such a big truck won over.
Hmmm if i could keep the same payment, personally i wouldnt do it but sounds tempting though. Better body style for the tacoma yeah there is alot of room in the tundra and its powerfull but im happy with what i got.

I can guess where you're coming from... and the Tundra probably makes sense if you want to tow that camper of yours a lot. IIRC you had problems installing the trans cooler, so you're probably worried that you might be maxing out the Taco (I don't know what you're camper weighs, but I would guess it's close to max when loaded with water and 'stuff').
I test drove a Tundra and liked it. But on the other hand, I don't need a truck that could tow up to 10,000 lbs, and that led me to the Taco. For me, it came down to selecting the truck that met my needs. Sounds like your needs just went beyond what the Taco will do...

I would definitely give it serious consideration. If MPG's are similar (Tacoma Lifted = Tundra No Lift) and comfort is what your looking for, I say go for it. My dad has the Tundra and that thing is a hammer...power, power, power.
Plus when is too much of anything a bad thing??
