Have you ever...

...overfilled your gas tank to the point that the gas comes out the top?
I did today, the auto shut off was broken on this pump and I did not get it shut off before it came out the top.
I am not sure how the vent system works but I'd bet mine is full of fuel.
Any ideas on what to do?
Should I even worry about it?

Never overfilled my tank, but I don't think you have anything to worry about........besides the 10 bucks you spilled.

I'd just run the vehicle for 10 miles to burn off the excess. Vehicles are designed to account for mishaps like this. Just don't get into the habit of topping off or you may cause emission control issues. You should also report that pump to the dealer or to the 800# usually at the pump.

I dont think I'd worry about it being totaled. I would be more worried about the wasted gas.

you should worry about the evap. system.

if your truck is running fine after several miles than you are good to go.

I thought the vehicle would implode if you over filled the gas tank....

USA Nah no way!

Oh man that sucks!!!! Don't worry you did not do to much damage but you might have flooded your muffler bearings or ruined your tail pipe battery
