As I got into my truck at the LAX (airport) parking lot after a great week in Cancun, I noticed a ticket on the windshield. I checked it out and it was for no front license plate. Being 2am I threw it in the console and drove home to get some much needed sleep. This morning I grabbed it and looked closer. It said white Nissan Pickup. I was more pissed that the cop thought is was Nissan than just getting a ticket. Ticketing a parked car for no front plate is just plain weak. Go LAPD!
It's illegal in cali, since people like to run lights, and since we have camera's that take your picture from the front, the PD don't get no money, cuz they can't prove who you are or who owns the vehicle.
Are you sure it's your ticket? Does it have your license plate #? Some moron may have gotten a ticket with his Nissan and put his ticket on your truck instead hoping you'd be stoopid enough to pay for it! LOL

I wish but the plate #'s correct. That would be pretty funny if it wasn't mine though.

a recent thread on camera tickets explained that the police don't get the money. it goes into the general fund. you have the right idea, though. private companies run the cameras, mail the tickets.
you can fight it, if it says white nissan, defineatly not you

Like others have said, don't pay it. It will get thrown out. I have had tickets thrown out for less; date, name spelled wrong, etc. Unless the cost of the ticket is less than you would lose missing work, then I would pay it since it won't go on your driving record.

Haha, like everyone said, that's easy to get thrown out.
"Your honor, as you can clearly see on my registration I own a Toyota not a Nissan."
"Dismissed. Next!"
Actually, there is no court required for a "fix it" ticket. Just go to the court written on the ticket and show that there was a mistake. Actual cost is a whopping $10. And thats for the court fee to process the ticket. http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d03/vc5200.htmhttp://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d03/vc5201.htm These links might help. I remember an online petition going around about changing the front license plate requirement. I think it would save the state government %50 on the license plate cost! Good Luck! BTW...how was Carlos and Charlies?
