Floor Jack ?

I need to get a floor jack and jack stands to install new UCA's. Does anyone know how high a floor jack and jack stands must go for a 3" lifted Taco? thanks

Not sure on the minimum height you need, but I picked up a Big Red 3.5 ton service jack and Big Red 6 ton jackstands from Pep Boys. I think the jack goes to ~23" and the jack stands to 24".. plenty for replacing UCA's. I would estimate you need 19-20" or so. My old Crapsman 2.25 ton jack worked to push up the LCA's but in now way would reach the frame without some serious cribbing under it.

thanks. most of the floor jacks I've seen say they max around 20 inches, so I guess that will be sufficient to get the tires off the ground?

that should be plenty. This is mine, http://www.torinjacks.com/ProductDet...x?ProductID=49 , it only goes to 22" (thought it was more) and it was enough.

I also have a jack from sears and it will not clear the front tires - I do not have a lift either. I have to use two railroad ties under my jack to get the front off the ground. There is alot of downward travel in the front suspension.
