Question about truck racing on SpeedTV - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

I saw some offroad racing earlier on SpeedTV, and this was the first time I noticed a Tacoma racing...It even that the sport hood scoop. Are those based on actual trucks? I have a feeling they are custom frames with v8s and flimsy panels to resemble the for sale models. Does anyone know the deal with these, if they are related to "real" trucks, it could be interesting to watch.

You're talking about the CORR series: http://www.toyota.com/motorsports/offroad/specs.html The Tacoma is actually a 4 cyl with more hp than we have in our V6.
