Amazing hybrid specs

Would love to see this incorporated in the Toyota trucks. It can not come to soon.

I want to see Toyota come out with active fuel management like GM has. I wonder why Toyota hasn't done this already. It's not like they don't have the technology to do it.

GMs Active Fuel Management is good for about a 6-8% improvement in fuel economy, Toyota is smart not to waste time copying GM. Going from 18mpg to 19.5mpg isn't saying much.

from 21mpg to 22.68mpg or better.... I'll take that any day of the week. 8% means 8% more in my pocket every year I own my truck...$300 per year. that is pretty significant, IMO.

i've thought about why toyota didn't incorporate that into their cars/trucks.... probably comes down to a $$$$ issue though.

i have seen a trend with toyota. when honda introduced their first hybrids it was ground breaking but there were so many problems with them. then a number of years later toyota came out with theirs but they took the time to get it to a level of quality that was acceptable. 9 out of ten hybrids i see are toyotas. give it time if its a worth while idea toyota will build on it and come out with a version of it.

I'm sorry but a Vue probably tops out at $30k or so, I don't see how paying $10,000 more up front is that good of a deal, at that price its just something for the tree huggers to buy to show that they are willing to piss away money in the name of looking "green".

Another possibly is very few toyota's have a V8, there may be even less benefit found on a V6 to justify the engineering effort. Deactivating cylinders on an I4 doesn't sound practical.

i was speaking of the v6.... deactivate 2 cylinders, maybe 3... and get 23-24mpg from our 4.0... and have the power when we need it..... oh yea.....

just saw a commercial, the new Honda Pilot does this with its 6 cyl... keep an eye out for it.

I'll take the 8% and pay a little extra. It'll pay off in the long run.
