i know this isnt directly related to new tacomas, but if someone could help my out thatd be cool.

Ok, so instead of modding the crap out of my taco for offroad ive decided to just do a project build on a 82 pickup....

The truck doesnt have a title, and its being sold by an offroad shop. They say no title, so i get a bill of sale from them then go to police and apply for a title, three weeks later one comes in the mail....Does this sound right?

I live in Montana.

varies state by state but, here in oregon you need to have the last registered owner fill out an application for lost title, and submit it to the dmv.

I guess one thing i should have asked the shop is if they are the liscenced owners?

i guess the story is some guy traded it in to them and didnt have a title...god knows where he is now, hope i dont need him to sign something....mabye the shop will have some kind of bill of sale?

sounds pretty scary. if they are not the registered owners-which i'm sure they are not, i wouldn't even mess with it.

I read over on pirate4x4 kid bought a truck in NE and had ot get a new title, 6 MONTHS?!

its a dedicated trail rig, but some roads to get there. DAM.
