Toyota to suspend truck and SUV production to meet changing consumer demands.

Does anybody have more info about the below segment of an Associated Press article from here: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...PRICES?SITE=AP

"Toyota Motor Corp., which hasn't been able to keep up with demand for its 46-miles-per-gallon Prius hybrid, said last week it will start producing the Prius in the U.S. and suspend truck and SUV production to meet changing consumer demands."

I read that same thing and was wondering if they were suspending all trucks? That is pretty radical, I must say...

It must help our resale value, though, if Tacomas are harder to get. At least it will help keep the supply more commensurate with the demand.

It's the AP. I wouldn't believe everything they say but it would make sense for them to at least cut back. Hey, at least they FINALLY reported the largest drop in oil prices in history.

Hey now, I work for the AP! they usually are on the mark. It the hacks like FOX that get it wrong.

AP, Reuters, BBC, etc. HUGE bias. That's my problem. The world news organizations are even worse than what we have here.

Of course, this is WAY off topic. To be more succinct, don't trust what you see in the news.

I bet Toyota is talking about the Tundras since there are a gazillion of them on every lot I've been past.

You can buy a Tundra for less than a Tacoma at this point. No one wants them.

It is the Tundra and Sequioa. They going to build Prius' at that Mississippi plant instead. It's supposed to be for a short period like 3 months. That story came out prolly 2 weeks ago.

Here's a related story. http://www.autonews.com/article/2008...529819889/1117

Unfortunately its a subscription site.
