Discharging an AC system...

So, I'm ripping a parts car up, and I need to discharge the AC, which I believe is fully pressurized.

My buddy told me to open the garage, put a big fan in the back pointing out like at smog shops, and to open it up and run.

The car isn't rolling anymore, and I can't store it outdoors anyway. Is this the only viable option I have? I couldn't find any "kits" to discharge an AC... IDK...

Venting the refrigerant into the atmosphere is very very illegal, There is no way for it to be towed to an AC shop?
