I know some TN members don't think CR ratings hold their own. I just wanted to share this as another source of information that may aid in the tire decision process we all face. Hopefully this information, input from fellow TN members, and the wealth of information from Tire Rack can help you make up your mind. Or, it will just confuse the F#*! out of you like it has for me.
Hey thanks for posting this, with all the opinions on tires out there, it never hurts to get a couple more. I think I am leaning towards the General Grabber at2's myself.
I went with the GY Silent Armors.
I looked at the Tire Rack people reviews filtered to people with 12K-30K miles on the tires and the SA were a good choice to me.
They look great too.
I think Nitto TGs were higher on the list last year. I was going to go with the Pirellis, but even though it had decent reviews on Tire Rack, there was more than one complaint of flat spots after sitting overnight, and the tire taking a couple of mile for them to smooth out.
There was a second set of ratings for All-Season tires. The BFG Rugged Trails fell into that category. So did the Dunlops you all love to hate. If I remember correctly, they were both pretty close to the bottom of the list. I think the Rugged Trails were second to last out of nearly 20 all-season tires.
Makes me feel good about my toyo open country's. One of the cheapest tires in the test too at $111 i think. I read the article when it came out a week or so ago.
