09 Ranger to stay?

Ok, I'm not a huge Ford Ranger fan, but I heard that the 08 Ranger would be the last year. But I now see that they are listed on the Ford website. I thought they were going to re-design a small/mid-side truck naming it the F-100. Anyone know?

That was the plan, but with high gas prices they decided to keep the ranger plant open until 2012 at least. Thats the last I've heard about it.

I came to toyota after drving Rangers since I had my DL. I started when I was 16. Bought My Taco at 30. There not bad little trucks at all.
First was 92 Reg cab 4x4 2.9 auto
2nd was 88 B2 2.9 4x4 Manuel
97 3.slow 5 speed 4x4 Manuel
01 Ranger Edge Extened cab4.0 SOHC 5 speed extened cab. 3 inch BL rims tires stereo Shaved emblems bunch of other little shit.
04 Ranger 4.0 4x4 exteneded cab <- repoed.
Back to 97 Ranger
Now 08 Tacoma.

Can you say I was bored of the ranger. The Dash in the newer rangers looks a lot like the dash did in the 88 B2. Same basic layout.

I love my Taco, Whish I got the DC.
but yea The ranger will be around for a while.

Sorry I was just asking a question, some of you guys need to relax. I've owned two Rangers and one Tacoma and the Tacoma had the most problems.

I used to drive a '89 Ranger STX. The manual tranny was junk. My friends Ranger had the same issue. Also the back brakes would drag and make a noise. This was also a common problem for Rangers. The little 2.9L V6 was a stout motor for a small truck. It was a stump puller.

I havnt heard anything more than the F-100 designes. Didnt know they were being continued again. My 1st truck was a 95 Ford Ranger XLT, I loved that little thing! But I needed a big kids toy

I've had two, a 97 and an 03 and I loved both. Would still have the 03 if not for an accident.

For those of you who only blog all day, there is MAJOR turmoil in the auto world. The Tundra has been a disaster for Yota. GM talked to Ford and then Chrysler about merging. Dealers can't get credit to make car loans.

Taco redesign was supposed to happen in '10, now the rumor is '12.

Ford has announced they don't want to own Mazda anymore, so seems likely there won't be much development on common platforms. Ranger = Mazda B.

And I am looking at a VW banner above and a GMC banner below the text on a Toyota blog.

I am a broke idiot, which makes me more solvent and smarter than the guys running our financial institutions.

Mine too. Loved that little truck. Same thing though, needed a big kids toy. Wish sometimes though that I kept the ranger to toll around in.
