Moab 2009

The countdown has begun this morning, and we are getting ready to ship out. It's been a long week getting my truck ready to go, and I'm happy to say we met the deadline. This is the first of many pictures to come (hopefully there is free Wifi somewhere in Moab). I will be posting more as time goes on.

Do you have any trails picked out or are you just going to figure it out when you get down there? Be careful if it rains (since it's that season)...some trails are impassable when soaked (sounds intuitive but some people forget it's not all slick rock). Otherwise it should be a great time of year to get out there and beat the crowd. Have fun!

Check out Eddie Mc Stiff's on Main St for wi-fi. Moab KOA (just south of town) has wi-fi for its customers, but it's not password protected.

Have a great time. When I lived in UT for 8 years you could not keep me away from going down south. Like it was mentioned, its the rainy season and I have seen those dried creek beds do some pretty serious damage to trucks, not to mention people. Have fun, and take some pics!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls.....Here is your main event!

The locations in these pictures are the Baby Lions Back and the Fins 'n Things trail. ENJOY!!! I sure did!

At the Campsite

Campsite Again. A special note, the '01 Silver Taco shown is my previous vehicle that I sold to my buddy. It was a wonderful bonding experience for the '01 and '08

Scoping my lines on the Baby Lions Back

And we're off!

It gets pretty bumpy up on top

Here is a video of going down the backside

And going backup the backside

This one was about as close to scratching the bumper as I have ever been

When the right front tire dropped down on this one, it was a little sketchy.

He had an advantage with the shorter wheel base in some sections

Pictures dont do justice to this section. It was rough!

Standing on the brake pedal and hanging out the window

Scuffed the oil pan on a rock with this one

This was one of two "waterfalls"

And here is the second........

Both rear tires were off the ground for a time and i was riding on the hitch

I really didnt think he was going to do it. I turned around and he was halfway through it

But he rode his hitch a little longer than I did

And that was the end of an epic trip!
