Maybe I'm alone here but backing a near 20ft truck out of a tight lot takes a little bit of effort when going straight takes minimal effort. I like taking the path of least resistance .
Here's a diagram of what I will do to the standard 6-8" curb.
It just seems commonsensical... But I do sometimes get some weird looks
Edit: the guy in the red car was waiting to take my spot. My passenger said they gave me a funny look heh.

I only drive over curbs when absolutely necessary. Like when I'm trying to leave my parking lot to get to work and there is a dump truck at the dumpsters blocking my access to get out. So I'll drive up and over the grassy knoll and over the curb so I'm not late.
Or when I'm driving in snow and the city doesn't plow the roads so it causes deep ruts, then when you make a lane change the truck hops and spins out and I'm in the lane closest to the median with all the shrubs and trees and sprinkler heads I'll usually just drive over it so I dont cause a traffic back up.
Or when I go to the local hangout spot and all the guys with there Hondas and Evos and STi's back into the stall against the curb, I'll just come in from the other lane and drive over the median and curb to show them up.
I dunno man the tacoma is NOT that big. If you want people to think you have no business driving a truck then I would say go ahead and drive over curbs.

Neither is a 6-8" curb
I did worse when I had my lifted TJ.

That's the kind of thing I did when I first got my license and I was driving my Ford F-150. It's not to say that I don't now when the need arises. The Tacoma parks like a dream compared to that Ford, though, which was much wider and had the worst turning radius of anything I've ever driven except possibly the big box trucks I used to drive at work. It's a lot easier to avoid doing that now.
Nice diagram, by the way.

It's better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.

I owned a Titan before the tacoma. Same deal with that truck. It was a pig to park.
