Stop beeping

I've had my 09 Tacoma for about a month now. Because I never take the key out of the ignition, the darn thing keeps beeping when the door is open.

Does anyone know where that annoying beeper is located so I can pull it out of its socket? I am guessing that it is the same one that beeps for other things too (like seat belt). I can live without that sound.

In the old days, I could reach up under the dash, feel a small cube shaped plug in component and simply pull it out and stick it in the glove box for when I trade the truck in. With my Ford, I was able to cut the wire that went to the ignition switch, but that truck had no computer chip in the key. I don't dare try that on this truck.

Other than the beeping, the truck is awesome. I will have to get rid of it though, if I can't get it to stop beeping. I can't be the only one. One of you must know what to do.

Jay

Jay, surely you are joking. You leave the key in the ignition all the time? And you'll get rid of the truck if you can't stop the warning beeper? Seems to me that you won't have to get rid of it, if you just leave the keys in it someone will help you out with that.

Would someone just answer the question please. Who knows where that annoying beeper is? I can't find it. Enough scolding already. The key stays in.
