Poor Off-Roading Judgement

I saw the other thread here about worst drivers and then saw this story in today's news: http://www.kcra.com/news/19578981/detail.html

Take a look at that picture! Isn't the reflection in the water inside the vehicle cool? What a dumbass, and he had his kids in the FJ too!!! Hope none of you ever get yourselves in that type of a situation. This is a tough trail, and one that shouldn't be attempted when the rivers are at their highest due to the large snow runoff we're having this year. In fact, most groups cross the river when PG&E lowers the river level specifically for events.

Here's more info on the trail and a pic of what the river should look like when crossing it (http://www.californiajeeper.com/fordyce/review.htm). Quite a bit different than the pic in the news story above.

So...any of you do anything dumb like this before? Come on, let's hear it. We all make poor decisions at times.

Nothing that bad.

I was going around the truck whose driver took this picture to give yank to a very stuck rig. The ground was less than solid. Took some work, but we got the truck out, I crunched a cab corner, cracked the fiberglass bed in the same area and wrecked a hubcap.
