why did this have to happen to me :(

so my girlfriend and i went with her brother and his girlfriend to a ihra raceway out in the boondocks of w.v. for what was supposed to be a fun filled night of classics drag racing and then some jet cars. the parking lot is a huge hay field with no lights. about 7,000 showed up. well on the way out to my truck after it was over, i opened up my door and saw my passenger window had been busted out and her coach purse was taken. she had EVERYTHING in it, credit cards, id, soc sec card, her 'pill' () and both of our usb drives for work. i walked over to the sheriffs durango, and 9 other people had the some incident. ALL with newer model trucks, 4 of them had lifts on them. altogether 6 purses were taken, all coach. but a bank had been robbed about a half hour before the race ended and they think its the same people.

i have some pictures of what they did, he had to have hit it with something big, it knocked glass all across my truck. theres damage to the dash and the door panel. safelite is coming monday at 1pm to fix the window ($204.95), then i have to get it tinted again. i'm not turning it into the insurance, i have a $1000 deductible anyway so i'd have to pay for it and get my rates jacked up.

i cant believe this happened, just when i get the truck to how i want it this shit happens. the window can be replaced i know, but the damage to the dash and panel kind of gets me. luckily there was no damages to the paint nor was the wet okoles nicked or cut. i'm more worried about my girlfriend's belongings and what not though

damage to the passenger side dash...

damage to the door panel...

Sorry about the incident, I absolutely hate people who do stuff like this, they are so low, I hope they get caught, and everything works out for you.

Sorry about that, that sucks! My dash already looks like that and is self inflicted if that makes you feel any better, haha. There are assholes everywhere! Theres not much you can do about it either, hopefully they find those bastards and hopefully they find her/your belongings. Again sorry about that, that really sucks!

This is a great reminder to everyone, do not leave personal belonging such as purses, wallets, ipods, etc. in your vehicle where they will be seen. Or this will happen to you. With the slumping economy people are getting more and more desperate. And smash and grabs are becoming more and more common.

Sorry about the damage they did to your truck, that really sucks!! Something that might help you fix the dash and door panels is spray vinyl dye. I have seen it at Auto Zone and it can be ordered online. Spray the correct color dye on a Q tip and touch up the scratched areas.

Is your deductable for comprehensive too? You might call your insurance agent anyway as vandalism would be covered under your comprehensive coverage.

Sorry about that.

Geez, that brings back bad memories of one of my past autos.

For what it's worth, at least they didn't steal your truck. That's the worst.

Once you have the window repaired, at least it will drive the same way you remember.

Thank goodness for tempered glass.
