took it in (on base) for a safety check, they recommended an alignment because the tire wear was alittle off and also recommended wheel balancing and an oil change.
I do my own oil so I just had them do the rest.
I only drive my truck on the weekends now and had an errand to run with it today...noticed that all 4 of my rims are gouged where it looks like the mechanic used a flat head screw driver to take the older weights off.
i'm very un-satisfied with this and was going to give the manager a piece of my mind tomorrow (and maybe some of my fist).
my rims were; besides being alittle dirty, were flawless with 0 curbing/marks...now I have 4 damaged rims...
ranting aside...anyone have an advice what i can expect?
I'd love for them to just replace my factory rims with new ones...but i dunno if that will happen...
i'm never going back there for ANY maintenance....
This is a gripe that's heard alot.Whenever I have another do work on anything of mine,b4 I leave or pay I do a complete inspection & test drive if it's a vehicle. If you don't do this, anything that is noticed after you leave is up for debate that it didn't happen there & is tough to get made right unless,1.It is an undenialble problem only the business could have done.2.A person at the business admits to the damage.3.The business makes it right to keep you as a customer.Only the best mgrs. will do this & if you're not a regular there I would bet they try to avoid fault.Good luck;I would take them a couple estimates on powdercoating the wheels to show them you are serious about pursuing this.
Firestone is the worst piece of shit company. Don't ever take your vehicle there...bunch of morons working there. If you can prove they did it sue their ass.
Sucks to hear about the scratches on the rims. The scratches may have been cause from the alignment. I was warned that the equipment that is used could scratch my rims but they would be very careful. Probably just got a careless tech.
"Firestone is the worst piece of shit company. Don't ever take your vehicle there...bunch of morons working there. If you can prove they did it sue their ass.?"
I have only had good experiences with firestone they have done all 3 of my alignments and my mud terrains and have never damaged my wheels. They also always balance my tires correctly unlike DT company.

and the damage is extremely obvious...its like the mechanic didn't care.
i'm totally fine with damaging my rims myself, but as a mechanic myself, I cannot except that kind of poor maintenance especially when using the wrong tools because its 'a little faster/less-work-for-me'

Totally moronic blanket statement.Being that you are in Atlanta though,I can understand your sentiment, plenty of them there.I hate Atl.with a passion.
Actually;in reallity, after the Ford-Firestone incident;Bridgestone-Firestone tires are probably the most quallity consious tires being made right now;I know,I work at a Bridgestone plant & see it first hand.As for your local service center, you may very well have idiots employed there, wouldn't surprise me being your location, but overall the Mastercare centers are dependable.
i had a bad experience with firestone myself. they intentionally vandalised my truck because i changed my mind on some tires. ill never recommend them to anyone, ever. glad to see it's not just me who hates them

Local firestone store broke 3 out of 4 of my tire pressure monitor sensors. They said they couldn't fix it, so I took it to the dealer, the dealer fixed it, and I gave firestone the bill. Firestone happily refunded the amount of the bill to my credit card.
