Lock Right locker install charge

I went today to a local 4x4 shop and they informed me that the locker would cost me around $450 and labor was gonna be $300 not including incidentals, oil, taxes, parts, etc

I must admit, i cursed at him a minute in shock at how much labor costs. I told him that it should take no longer than 3 hours assuming someone experienced puts the thing in....according to others that have done it themselves. he said that it would be close to 6 hours..... needless to say, i left......

price seems high even for just the locker.....

cost me alot more than that

to install 2 lockers (ARB)

they were brand new.

but it was way way more money than that...

prolly 1500.00 per diff.. lockers, landed, US - Cnd dollar conversion, installation

rear diff is probably not super hard. but the front diff is a clamshell!

cheers

$300 install for a lunchbox is a little steep, but it depends how pricey of a shop you go to obviously. Saying it's a 6 hour job is ridiculous. It's not like you're re-gearing the whole thing.

$450 for the locker itself is overpriced fer sure.
