Walker Valley is the closest, but not for the faint of heart unless you're okay with body damage or have a good spotter. Just to get into the trails, you have to climb over quite a few large rocks. The whatcom county orv park was closed a few years ago after a bunch of inbred hillbillies drove through the creek/river in non designated fording areas during the salmon spawning season

. Your best bet, as aaronk said, is Twin lakes or take the Mt. Baker highway and just explore the endless dirt and old logging roads that are all over the place. Be careful though, as quite a few mud slides occurred during the winter and I'm not sure if they have all been fixed yet. Also, go all the way to Artists Point on Mt. Baker, it really is an awe inspiring view, and if you like to hike, the trails are everywhere. There are a few places down by Seattle, such as Tahuya or Evans Creek, but I've heard they're not to be taken lightly.

HAHA!

So true, so sadly true lol. Worst of all are the lifestyle hippies, these well off(financially) people who live in big houses and buy special $10 cups of coffee that I can't even spell. Yet they stand on the soap box and preach to everyone else about cutting back to help the environment, because they drive a brand new prius and want you to know about it.
