Well I had to do it, I traded in my 2007 Tacoma Pre-Runner Crew-cab on a LOADED 2009 Corolla XRS in hopes of saving a few bucks on gas and insurance. I hated to do it but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. So what's next you ask, well, I've got my eye on a nice shiny 4x4 Crew-max Tundra with all the bells and whistles, 5.7 liter V8, Short-bed, polished aluminum running boards, toneau cover, TRD off road package and the PREMIUM extras package with blue-tooth. Yeah, I KNOW the gas mileage will be crap but by the time I get the funds together for the truck who knows what magic Toyota will have done to increase the mileage.
I'm still gonna hang out here because you're all a bunch of great people and I just LOVE the way you greet the newbies when they post question already answered in the FAQ!
Anyway, have a great weekend everyone!

Good Luck. I did the same think in July. Privately sold my Taco and bought a year old Kia Spectra for cash. It is amazing how much money you have when you do not have a car payment. $27 in gas every two weeks beats $40 every week and a half too.
If Toyota brings D4D engine in USA, I'll be all over that. Otherwise I might look into a Mahindra.

That would sound like a step towards the wrong direction after the tacoma, and 2 steps in the wrong direction after the corolla. lol.

Selling a car for MPGs is almost always a bad decision after factoring in depreciation...Tacoma to Carolla to Tundra tells me you probably should have been in the Carolla to start with...

It's more because I was laid off some months back and money right now is TIGHT to say the least, and if I have to choose between a truck and a roof over my head, guess which one wins?! Sure I MISS THE HELL out of the truck but right now it's not a wise decision but after the economy picks up, having owned a Tacoma I think I want something bigger in the future. By that time I hope to be in better shape financially and the cost of fuel won't be a big deal. Besides I hear that Toyota is talking about doing what Chevy is doing and having the Tundra run on 4 cylinders on the freeway with the intermittent valve timing and such.
Anyway, I can ALWAYS count on your guys being BRUTAL in your opinions! (LOL)
