i = Intellegent. This means that the VVT is controlled by the computer and engages when most needed ie: at idle at full throttle and at >4.5k Revs as well as other factors. This is found on the Blacktop

On the silvertop, VVT just engages at above 4.5k revs. It does not engage when most needed, it just engages at the set revs - therefore VVT (non-intellegent) on the Silvertop, VVT-i on the Blacktop...
