Well if you left a car to age for many years, of course the sales will drop. I don't think they did the SC name any justice. They need an SC like the 1st Gen. A sleek, stylish personal coupé (and not the Solara). They need it large enough so that it doesn't feel cramp yet small enough that it doesn't feel like you're driving an LS coupé

I've driven an Avalon since 1996. I'm now on my 3rd one. I love that car. I 1st started reading that they were going to be cancelled after the 2010 model back in the Spring. I got a great buy on a 2008 Demo in Juily and traded my 05 in for it. I might just have to buy a 10 mid year if they are still talking killing it.
Did I mention that I love this car???

It looks like consumer demand for more fuel-efficient models is affecting the super number one greenest manufacturer from the land of the rising sun, too. According to the folks with the corporate Inside Line, the 2011 Lexus LF-A-based 2011 Lexus SC has been canned. Additionally, it looks like the 2011 Toyota Avalon may meet the same fate, replaced instead with a long-wheelbase 2012 Toyota Camry.
Originally, Lexus's plan was to develop a new SC based on the LF-A, but softened-up a bit for the colostomy-bag crowd at which the current model is targeted. However, sales of the so-ugly-it-hurts $67,120 hardtop convertible dropped 40% during the first half of 2008, necessitating a total rethink. We guess the market for a 288 HP 16-mpg city, non-performance luxury convertible isn't as big as was once thought.
Well neither of them are gone now. The new Avalon is (from what I here on the "2011 Avalon" forum) likely coming out in April
The Sc430 is probably just going to be redesigned or replaced according to something i read back IN 2009!!!! Hey it's 2010~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!! Hoorahhh...
Hello all! I just figured I would post here and share what I've heard. As of right now, Toyota does not have any plans to scrap the 2011 Avalon redesign. I have yet to personally see it myself, but the owner of my dealership has seen (and sat in) one within the last few months. He told me "I don't think the exterior was too radically different, but the interior has been completely redesigned. I think it's MUCH better than the current design. I liked it so much that as soon as they started taking pre-orders, I ordered one." So, if people have the opportunity to pre-order these cars, I highly doubt that Toyota will scrap the redesign and cancel all of those orders!
Allow me to clarify what I meant by pre-order. My owner has reserved one for retail at our dealership. I don't think they are taking pre-orders for personal ownership yet. But when I know something else I'll be sure to post it here!
