1984 Toyota Corona Start problems...

Not sure if this has been posted before, if so can I have a link or just some general help..

Okay, Just brought a Old car for my first car, so if i crash it, It don't matter.. But I'm seeming to have some trouble with it. Every so often it wont start, it would just click, I'd put in the plug for the Immobilizer and go to start, and would click. I'd end up having to roll start it in third to get it to start.. I have just replaced the starter Motor, which cost just over $150.. And that Hasn't fixed it. I've also tried recharging the battery.. But I don't know if it works or not..

One of my friends told me it might be the Alternator, might be broken, when the car starts and runs it recharges the battery.. Just wanna get a second, third, forth opinion before I go buying parts. Any information that you might be able to provide me will be muchly appreciated.

You could try cleaning all the conectors .

Make sure all the bolts are tight.
I had same problem before ....found out that the bolts on the battery terminals were not tight.

check your battery cable. it might be that. if your battery is good.

Don't see how the battery could be doing this aye. I think its the alternator, what you guys think?

Okay, well I checked everything you guys said. And yeh Nothing was lose or corroded. So could it be just a C*ap battery?

Okay it did it today, so im guessing a old battery.. What type of battery should i use if im putting one in my car? Is there certain types that are better or what?

Get one from Walmart, with same cold crank amps, about the same size, should run about $45

Nah I don't wanna buy a New Car. This one runs perfect, Except for the Odd starting problems. Are you sure its the battery though?
