wow, havent touched this thread in almost a year.

i have a full on build thread for the wagon, stuipidly pic heavy here http://blacksheepauto.com/forum2/ind...77.msg1483#new

so heres some highlights

Quote:
did i mention the spindles from a 87 supra with 11.5in vented rotors and 5lug

turns out the ball joint diameters are not as close as id hoped

so im gonna hit up the parts store and see how much bigger a later truck balljoint is. i believe they mount the same, we'll find out. or ill attempt to use the stock ball joints, the lower (above left) looks pretty easy to mod to fit, but the upper is pressed and the arm is way wider then the corona arm

heres some gratuitous comparison pics

9.5in for those counting at home.

and a couple random pics of my stock suspension

and a shot of a hilux spindle for comparison

got the oil leak handled.

you can see where the copper ring wasnt seating on the lil gap in the threads. put a screw driver in there and pried it to make the plug seat again, threw the tiniest bead of rtv on the plug just in case.

then i remembered this weird copper bolt thingy that would be perfect for fixing the throttle linkage. of course i found it on the bottom layer of my 2sqft random bolt bin.

before with the team zipty linkage

before adjustment zone lots of room to tighten over time but not much adjustable slack

new awesome copper bolt thingy, allows adjustment if needed.

flipped the bracket for slack adjustment, as it sits it closes fully and opens to about 97% so i have some room if i "bend the pedal". think its perfect but i think i might need more slack till i get the poly motor mount in. got room to tighten and plenty for slack if needed.

gonna remake the linkage bracket on the SC next to the carb. if i lower where the cable comes out it will get wot easier, but i consider it done.

kinda kicking around a all linkage idea for the old skool/factory look. i like random moving parts in the eng bay and linkage is cool. :_|_:

gonna play around with a ton of balljoints tomorrow morning ( i F'n love my parts store, action auto parts 76th/99) might even get the ball joints handled and brakes installed

wagon is on the road again

drove around for a good hr on side streets in traffic even, with no overheating issues at all :santa:

bolted on a saturn alt, had a lil "self clearancing" so i readjusted the bracket.

wired up the saturn alt

gave hippie a ride, he's got video (ps: where is it F'er). then went down to the wall and took some pics

cool puddle

then i used the wagon as nature intended

plenty of room for the grocery's

and big news...

in car camera, wicked exhaust leak

5 lug swap failed for bolt on, no direct bolt on lower balljoint that would work.

so i shelved it for the mean time, when i go to air bags ill make new lower control arms then go straight to the supra spindles.

your mk2 is a whole different animal compared to mine. ive just got a base corona, not even a delux model.
