you "should" be able to put in any R series motor with a lil fabing on the mounts.

only real issue is the 2xr is a bit taller then the previous R's.

then for the tranny id use a w58 from a 82-85 celica/supra.

then again it just might be smarter to get a new nissan eng. what eng is in there? got pics?

honestly i rather have the heart of a toyota. i will have some pics soon. right now im in the middle of having it delivered to my house and once that is squared, i will be able to have more info. when i saw it to buy it i didnt get the chance to really dig into, but from what was there, sitting in the field all shiny amongst those ofther "muscle" cars, i knew it was special.

that is a VERY OLD nissan eng, prolly came out of a pre75 datsun.

i say yank it and throw in a 2xr.

when you go to get rid of the motor post it on www.ratsun.net some datto freak there will want it for sure.

very interesting that somebody would swap a 8r for a just as old datsun motor.

will do. it is odd, they pulled out the toyoglide and just cut a ghetto hold for the atuo selector for the nissan trans. i havnt had much time to work on it... so far ive only removed all the seats and began refinishing the floor. the engine/trans im going to get in the next couple weeks... gotta find a good yard to go to.

Hello. That motor is either a 1.2 or a 1.4 Datsun motor.
I have 2 of those motors at home. One is a 1.2 came in the early Datsun 1200, the other is a 1.4.came in Datsun B210 and Datsun 210 (74-82)
They are pretty much the same except the internals. These motors are very reliable, fuel economic and hard to kill ( well, Not yours) lol.

Are these the old OHV engine in early Datsuns. I would put a Toyota engine in it if the current one is messed up. If you like Datsun, find an L20B engine, it's good size four banger. You can probably find a 5 spd trannie to hook up to it.
