5/7m or a 1/2jz will fit in there real nice

and if i had the money i got into a supercharger in my hand id be doing just that.
So would those motors fit, would the existing mounts work, would the stock transmission handle it? I don't have a money tree, would the carb work well for some extra punch for now.

the motor will "fit" but you will need to modify the mounts a bit. the manual transmisisions are known to handle 300hp ish, and those engines all use a W series tranny, so its just about finding the right bellhousing. or getting the eng/tranny as a package.

side drafts are super expensive new, for the same money you could prolly get a running and driving supra to use as a donor.

search around a bit at the following sites for details on various swaps. including but not limited to:

chev 350
4/5/6/7m/gte
1/2jz
1uz
3/5vz
96 ford cobra conversion
ect.

www.celica-gts.com
www.classic-celica.com
www.1stgencelica.com
www.pirate4x4.com

note: non of these sites specialize in a corona, but a corona is a combination of a RWD celica and a truck. they all use the same drivetrain components and deal with the same eng bay space. so if something fits in one of them, it will fit in a corona, with the same amount of work.

id do some thinking about where you want to go with your car. maybe just get a weber 32/36 for now to keep you happy while you collect the parts for a big swap.
