I tried to open it up to see if it was just dirty inside or something was sticking, but the top screws are all stripped! I decided to get a rebuilt carb online. I recived it and installed it but now Im not sure how to adjust it. After installing it the car revs too high and I dont want to mess it up. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, if your carb has an automatic choke you fast idle screw may need to be adjusted. But when the motor is warmed up , it still idles high you need to turn the idle stop screw. This is the screw that stops the butterfly from closing too much, look at your old carb if you have it to see where the screw (s) are located. You may need to check the float level and also the idle mixture air screw . emember what screw you turned and how much, so you can go back to the way it was if things aren't working out. CH
