Hi, I know whats its like having hard starting problems, At least you didn't get nearly 1000 views and no one cared to help
With your carb not getting fuel to start it up and then eventually does, sounds like a fuel problem? If you have some spray to start it up you might give that a go and see if it fires up, if it does then somewhere along the fuel side is causes the problem
When its running great, do you get any black smoke coming from tail pipe?
When its operating temperature after driving it around for a bit, turn the car off wait a few minutes or an hour and see if its starts up first try..
a far as I know with those type of engines they have something called a float bowl and stores the petrol in there
have a look at the unit and check to see if all is good - just an idea
