What kind of Tranny oil to use?

Hi, I have a '73 corona 18rc w/ 3-spd auto (A40) tranny, I need to change the oil and I saw some post related to the oil used in the trannys. Below was a reply for a '70 corona 3 RC Toyoglide is this the type I need ?

"Use any major brand of Type F automatic transmission fluid"

Thanks

What does your owners manual say (if you have one)?

All the Toyota automatics up to 1982 use Type F fluid.

Park or Neutral, doesn't matter. Recheck level after a longer drive - around 15-20 minutes. Dipstick might show you're overfilled and so you might have to drain a bit out of the drain plug.
